International Service
In this "Avenue", Rotarians strive for the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. International Service Projects are designed to meet the humanitarian needs of people in many lands, with particular emphasis on the most underprivileged children and families in developing countries.
Rotaplast: The Rotary Club of San Gabriel will be supporting 2010-11 District 5300 Governor, Roger Schulte's Rotaplast project in San Salvador by sponsoring two surgical procedures.
PolioPlus Fundraisers: On occasions, special meetings such as our annual Trees of Giving fundraiser. Our club invites the community members to attend a special Rotary lunch where unique trees decorated by San Gabriel Rotarians are raffled. All proceeds go to PolioPlus.
PolioPlus: The Rotary Club of San Gabriel supports and promotes Rotary International's efforts to "End Polio Now". All club members are encouraged to participate in our Club President's Challenge by socking away a minimum of a $1 a week for PolioPlus and at club meetings to feed the Polio Pig with spare monies. San Gabriel Rotarians also create awareness and fundraising to end Polio by talking to the public, and acquaintances about this horrendous virus.
Paul Harris Fellows: The Rotary Club of San Gabriel is honored to recognize its Paul Harris Fellows. As of 2009 the club has recognized 36 Paul Harris Fellows and contributions around $80,000. It is the goal for all San Gabriel Rotarians to achieve this recognition. See "Photo Album"
